It All Started as a Dream, Worked Out By Hand. Kind of Makes You Think There's No Damn Excuse Not to Try Your Own Ideas Out!!!! Huh?
Today I went to the Museum of the Moving Image in Astoria to check out the Jim Henson exhibit and I was blown away. The entire museum is incredible and this exhibit was something special to me. They had pieces that spanned his ENTIRE body of work, starting from his childhood. I was particularly interested in looking at his storyboards. I love reading the little notes and directions in the margins and really got a sense of the type of work ethic this man had. And seeing the original sketches that the man drew with his own hands for the characters that are so recognizable today is really something.
I was very inspired walking through the exhibit, I studied every single piece of material they had and was in the exhibit for a good 2-3 hours. It was amazing looking through his creative process, especially while I am in the heart of preproduction for I Am Root Beer. I suggest you go check it out (the whole museum is amazing, it was my first time there!) the exhibit runs through January I believe, and I am planning on going back when I need to feel inspired.
